Horry County

Horry County is recognized for its excellent quality of life and wins top honors for its temperate climate, 60 miles of sandy beaches, world-class golf courses, state park and excellent entertainment options.

beach imageThe Myrtle Beach area was the 12th fastest growing region in the U.S. in 2008 with a growth rate of over 3%.  Corresponding with this growth, the County is making significant infrastructure investments. In the past six years, over $1.7 billion has been invested in the construction of roads and interstate-quality highways. A new 11,000 square-foot general aviation terminal was recently completed in Myrtle Beach and a $100 Million Expansion and Renovation project at the Myrtle Beach International Airport is underway.  The Myrtle Beach International Technology & Aerospace Park, now being developed, is situated adjacent to both the new general aviation terminal and the airport. This site will offer prime business locations.

Horry County’s health care and educational systems are nationally recognized. Our citizenry is served by three separate hospital systems. The countywide school system has received numerous accolades, including seven National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence awards and is home to two science and technology academies. Horry County is also home to Coastal Carolina University (CCU), which is rapidly becoming known for its academic and research programs. CCU ranked in the top 15 percent for affordability and productivity in America’s Best Colleges 2009.  Horry Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is the 4th largest in South Carolina’s 16 strong technical college system.  Along with HGTC, and the state supported pre-employment training program, there are many resources available to businesses developing a skilled labor force.

The greater Myrtle Beach area is the ultimate live/work community setting and offers a business-friendly environment with an unprecedented quality of life. Contact us to learn more about the area and prospective sites.
