County Overview

Located along Interstate 95 on the state line, is Dillon County: the home to South Carolina’s newest inland port.

Inland Port Dillon is just a mile from the interstate and near the junction of the CSX mainline running North/South and West-bound with direct access to the deep water Port of Charleston. The inland port facility enhances Dillon County’s excellent logistical position along I-95 by giving it the same cargo handling capabilities as a seaport. In addition, the county was recently certified as an ACT Work Ready Community.

Residents have access to local colleges and universities, such as Northeast Technical College, and one of the nation's top workforce development programs, ReadySC. All this in a county where the cost of living is 16% lower than the national average.
