Marlboro County sits in the middle of the powerful business sector of the southeastern United States, with impressive infrastructure connecting this rural southern area to global business for pennies on the dollar.

Nearby Florence-Darlington Technical College and Northeastern Technical College, part of the South Carolina Technical College System, work with new and expanding industries to provide a well-trained workforce. The South Carolina Governor's School of Math and Science, one of only 12 residential high schools in the nation dedicated to advanced study in STEM fields, is also within a 30-minute drive.

Lake Paul Wallace is a 600-acre lake with separate sections for swimming, fishing, boating and water skiing, along with a waterfowl refuge. The lake is a central destination for county residents, who gather regularly for festivals and other community events.

Marlboro County’s rich history in agriculture continues to this day and is celebrated in more ways than one. McArthur Farms, an agritourism park near Blenheim, is a fun place for families to learn more about that history and have a great time doing it!

Local Flavors

The town of Blenheim, located in Marlboro County, is known for its famous ginger ale, which is produced locally and known nationally for its distinctly “hot” flavor. The ginger ale began production in the late 1800’s with local mineral waters and dispensed as a tonic for dyspepsia.
