COLUMBIA Taking a look back at the year that was, the North Eastern Strategic Alliance (NESA), held its 2015 legislative reception in Columbia.

NESA a nine county regional economic development organization serving the northeast corner of South Carolina hosted members of its executive committee, board, investors, a host of legislators from throughout the state, county economic development officials and other officials as a celebration of the events of 2014, but also as a look forward into the current year.

The event, created to express NESA's appreciation for the legislators; efforts to advance the region's economic development goals and to draw attention to the importance of continued coordination between officials and community leaders, functioned as a forum for legislative leaders to share their prospects for 2015.

Yancey McGill, the chairman of the NESA Executive Committee, said he believes 2014 provided the region with a number of successes and even bigger things are on the horizon in 2015.

This organization has worked diligently to bring jobs to our region over the course of 2014, McGill said. I think in 2015, youll see that same success replicated and then some. I know that our leaders in the state legislature are doing everything in their power to help get South Carolinians back to work.

The legislative reception, an annual NESA event, brought more than 100 attendees from throughout the state.
