Vulcan Materials Company, a Birmingham, Alabama based company engaged in the production, distribution, and sale of construction aggregates, announced plans to open a site in Conway. The company will make an investment of $3 million and will hire five employees over the next 5 years.
Vulcan Materials Company is the largest producer of construction aggregates in the United States, primarily producing sand, crushed gravel, and stone. They serve 19 states, the District of Columbia, and Mexico. Their products form the building blocks for numerous roads, bridges, homes, and schools throughout the country.
To establish operations in Horry County, the company will locate in Conway off Yeager Ave, with direct frontage along the railroad. Vulcan Materials Company will hire five employees. The site will primarily be used for storage and distribution of construction aggregates, with materials being transported to the site from their Rockingham, NC quarry via rail.
